Once an application has been submitted through the Federation Credentials Verification Service (FCVS), it becomes locked and cannot be modified directly within the portal. This restriction ensures the integrity of the verification process. If you discover an error or need to update any part of your application, such as correcting personal information or revising submitted documentation, you must request assistance from FCVS Customer Support.
FCVS staff will evaluate your request and determine whether the necessary changes can be applied to your existing application or if a new submission is required. This decision depends on the nature and scope of the requested updates.
To begin this process, contact FCVS using one of the following official channels:
- Email: fcvs@fsmb.org
- Phone: 888-ASK-FCVS (888-275-3287)
Adding Recipients After Submission
If you intend to add additional designations such as extra licensing boards to your FCVS application, you do not need to contact support. This can be done directly through your FCVS account.
Follow these steps:
- Log in to your FCVS account
- From the home page, select ‘Add Recipients’.
- Choose the desired recipient(s) from the list. Depending on the recipient, you may be prompted to provide additional documentation or information.
- Complete the payment process and resubmit your application for distribution.
This functionality allows you to expand the reach of your verified credentials without altering the original application content.
How FCVS Profiles Are Delivered to Recipients
Federation Credentials Verification Service (FCVS) profiles are sent electronically and securely to the recipient designated during the application process. Delivery methods vary depending on the type of recipient.
State Medical Boards
Profiles are transmitted through a secure online portal. Once the profile is available, the board receives a notification and can log in to retrieve it. These profiles remain accessible for six months following their release.
Personal Recipients
Profiles are delivered electronically via the FCVS portal. You’ll receive an email containing a secure link to download your profile. You may also log in to your FCVS account at any time to view or download it. Personal profiles are available for up to six months after release.
Institutions or Other Entities
Profiles are sent by email to the address provided during the application process. Ensure that the email address is accurate and monitored to avoid delivery delays.
